The Lorange Institute of Business Zurich’s Executive Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA) degree will do more than propel your career. It is a transformational experience. The Executive Master of Business Administration program is designed both for university graduates working in management functions (engineers, lawyers, biologists, economists, etc.) and for selected executives with a strong expert knowledge and several years of management experience.

To meet the needs of practicing executives, our programs are regularly updated. Thus we will update our modules according to changing needs and timeliness.

The Executive MBA is a part-time studying program.

Modular Study Program
The Lorange Institute prescribes which modules need to be attended by the students within the framework of their study program. The students in turn can decide for themselves when to attend which module. Many modules are offered several times a year, so that students can enter into the course at any time, which provides them with a high degree of flexibility for arranging their individual study plans.

World Class Faculty
Our professors are global experts in their fields. They typically come from other academic institutions for short teaching stints at our business school, bringing with them the latest insights in the fields of management and business.

Part-time Studying
All study courses can be completed as a part-time scheme. Job absence is reduced to a minimum, as many modules are offered at weekends or as compact two week blocks.

Modern Pedagogy
The student deals with the theory several times in each module: Before each module students work through a determined amount of special literature and take a pretest (test questions). This makes sure that all students start the module with solid basic knowledge. Then the students deal with the theory during the tutorial and during the evening team discussions. Finally the students complete an individual exam at the end of the module.

Zurich Living Case™
A central element of each core module is the Zurich Living Case™. Student teams elaborate solutions for consultancy tasks related to the subject at hand which are submitted to the Lorange Institute by different companies. Living Case solutions are presented by the teams to the representatives of the Living Case company.

Meeting Place Culture
The Lorange Institute is a debate forum, a meeting place where students, faculty members, and practitioners build networks and share insights, ideas and expertise.

Dual Degree
Successful graduates of an Executive MSc or Executive MBA study program are awarded both a Diploma of Lorange Institute of Business Zurich and presently with a Diploma of Ashridge Business School, UK.

ECTS
The individual programs provided by Lorange Institute are coordinated within the framework of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). Credits awarded for any module can be transferred to another study program.

Lorange Campus
All modules take place at the modern Lorange Campus in an ideal learning environment right on the shores of Lake Zurich.

The study program consists of five 12-day modules and twelve 2-day modules/workshops. Finally you have to take the 2-day module on Essentials of Academic Work, and also to write a Master Thesis.

In addition you may choose to attend a module abroad provided by one of our Partner Universities. Tuition fee for this module abroad is waived. Even though this academic efforts does not count for your degree directly it is a unique opportunity to expand your network and broaden one‘s horizon.

One of the Lorange Institute’s innovation is the modular structure of programs thus you can book each module individually. Should you later decide on the EMBA program, your ECTS points will be transferred and the costs of the modules visited will be reimbursed as long as all application requirements are fulfilled.

Admission Criteria

Minimum age of 35.
A degree from a higher-level college, university or vocational school (Bachelor, Master). A higher professional education and in-depth professional experience might be considered as equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years in a middle or higher management position.
Sufficient fluency in spoken and written English to complete assignments and examinations and participate in debates without difficulty: 75 points internet based TOEFL test (or equivalent).

Complete the application form for the EMBA program. In addition you have to hand in following items:

CV that demonstrates your ability of leadership qualities and professional accomplishment
Letter of motivation
Copies of your previous degrees
Proof of your English language skills

Your application will then be assessed in an individual interview by a representative of our Admission & Academic Affairs Committee or Director of Studies.

Before starting the Executive MBA program you may have to attend our Management Refresher to update your business and management skills (decision of the Admission & Academic Affairs Committee).
